The Copper Kitchen Faucet. Make a Beautiful

kitchen faucet and matching accessories. Copper is a very popular metal, not
only because it looks so great but because it adds such a warm homey feeling to
every room it is in. There are actually two types of copper faucets. The first
is solid copper and unless you add a sealant you will have a living finish that
will tarnish and change over time as it reacts with the air. You can keep it
bright with polishing but if you want the aged patina look, you will want to
give it minimal cleaning without polishing. Then it will eventually turn to
verdigris, that wonderful green. Herbeau (listed below) carries a line of solid
copper faucets. The second is copper-plating. This is real copper applied to
another metal such as steel or brass. A clear coating or PVD finish is applied
to keep the copper from changing color. Most faucets are of this type and the
copper is very durable and very easy to clean. The copper comes in a few
different finishes to blend with your overall design. You will notice that the
manufacturers may have different words for the same finish. What one calls a
mirrored finish may be called polished by another. However, the basic finishes
are: 1. Antique - A darker, richer look, but with a dull sheen. 2. Polished - A
lustrous, shiny look. 3. Hammered - Can be either antique or polished but with a
